Beasiswa Monbukagakusho (dulu: Monbusho) terdiri dari 2 program, yaitu GtoG (government to government) dan UtoU (university to university). Program GtoG diselenggerakan oleh kedubes Jepang di seluruh negara yang biasanya di Indonesia pendaftarannya dibuka pada bulan Maret/April utk keberangkatan April atau Oktober tahun berikutnya.
